Wagha blast’s FIR registered

GNN - LAHORE: Batapur Police Station has registered an FIR (First Information Report) against an unknown person, who blasted himself near Wagha Border in the evening of November 2 (Sunday), an official of the PS confirmed here on Monday.

According to the FIR, he said, a Rangers Inspector Muhammad Tahir informed the Batapur police that he along with his other colleagues was performing duty at Wagha when, all of a sudden, an unknown person blew himself with heavy explosives among hundreds of people who were leaving the Wagha Border after witnessing the flag-lowering ceremony in the outer parking area, 500 to 600 meters away from the Pakistan-India boarder, at around 5:40pm on November 2, 2014 (Sunday). The explosion claimed 55 lives and injured 110 other visitors, he added.

The Batapur Police Station’s official said that they were investigating the case further and hoped that they would soon arrest the mastermind of the suicide attack.
