New Zealand choose to chase in 1st ODI

MIRPUR: Brendon McCullum, the New Zealand captain, won the toss and opted to field in the first ODI in Mirpur, on a batsman-friendly pitch, with dew expected to play a major role in the second half of the match.

Shakib Al Hasan, the Man-of-the-Series in the last ODI series between the two sides in 2010, was ruled out due to fever. Naeem Islam takes in his place, while Anamul Haque was picked to open the batting with Tamim Iqbal.

Rubel Hossain returns to the team after recovering from chicken pox and Mashrafe Mortaza has also made his comeback into the ODI team.

Anton Devcich will make his ODI debut for New Zealand. Kyle Mills will be replaced by allrounder James Neesham. Tom Latham, Colin Munro and Adam Milne have been dropped.
