KARACHI: Despite strong earning results, declared by various companies, investors held onto the sidelines ahead of Consumer Price Index announcement, which took toll on Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE).
The benchmark KSE-100 Index lost 0.34 percent or 76.55 points to settle down at 22,276.65.
Although the results announced by Engro Corporation Ltd and Pakistan Petroleum Ltd were better than the market consensus, but failed boost the sentiment enough to lead the bourse to a positive close.
Pakistan Engro Corporation Ltd lost 1.9 percent to Rs128.81 while Pakistan Petroleum Ltd went up 0.76 percent to Rs198.65.
