ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has restored the membership of 20 lawmakers after they submitted details of their assets.
Prominent lawmakers whose membership was restored include Faisal Raza Abidi, Shahjehan Baloch and Alizeh Iqbal.
The membership of the lawmakers had been suspended after they failed to submit details regarding their assets to the Election Commission.
The original deadline of October 15 to submit asset details had been extended due to Eidul Azha holidays in the country. According to the Representation of People Act 1976, all elected representatives need to declare their asset details annually on September 30. (GNN) (thenews) (Yoogle)
