ECP, army agree to hold LB polls in cantonment boards on Nov 3

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan and officials of Pakistan army have agreed to hold local bodies (LB) elections in cantonment boards on November 03. The Election Commission of Pakistan held its meeting here today with acting Chief Election Commissioner Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jilani in the chair.

Provincial Election Commissioners, secretary defence, officials of NADRA and Pakistan army were also present in the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the issue of holding of LB polls in the cantonment boards.

Acting Chief Election Commissioner regretting delay in holding of local bodies polls in the cantonment boards directed the secretary of the commission to seek more time from the Supreme Court. (Thenews) (GNN)
